Sony Portable Sports CD Player DSJ15

Electronics

Model # DSJ15

Sony's D-SJ15 Sports CD Walkman is made for the active listener, featuring a water-resistant case with rubber gaskets and waterproof seals to keep out moisture and dirt. This model features Sony's G-Protection feature, which the company claims provides 10 times faster shock recovery than other players. Sony doesn't rate the skip-protection of its players in seconds. This player comes with a hand strap and compact in-the-ear headband headphones. CD features include 64-track programming, nine playback modes (variations on repeat and shuffle) and track loop repeat. Sony says this machine will milk up to 32 hours of continuous playback time from two AA batteries (not supplied). When activated, Sony's automatic volume limiter system (AVLS) limits the volume so that a sudden loud track doesn't blow out your eardrums.

This hot-looking Sports Portable CD Walkman« can go anywhere you want it to...it's even Water Resistant to keep out water, moisture and dirt! Don't tip-toe around worrying about it skipping either...it features Skip-Free G-ProtectionM-^Y, making this model the ideal on-the-go companion. (Not meant to be immersed or come into continous contact with water.)

I use a personal CD player often as I go out walking. I do have a small ipod, but I have an extensive cd collection, and there is something nice about the tactile experience of flipping through my cd case, looking at the great cover art while I decide what to listen to on my walk.

My old player had had about 7 years of use and was skipping badly. I decided it was time for a new one, plus there have been more advances made in the technology since I bought my last one.

After looking around for a couple of days online, I decided to try this Sony model. I purchased it as a factory refurbished item off Ebay. I was a little nervous, but the seller provided all the information needed in case I might need to make a warranty claim to Sony.

I got this model for about $38, and it retails for over $100.

The player came, and I read over the instruction booklet to familiarize myself with all the new functions etc. I was surprised by one of the player's features. It comes with an AC adapter (that never happens!)and not only that, the unit is made so that you can plug in the adapter, and if you have rechargeable batteries in the unit, you press the "stop" button and the batteries will begin to charge! I can not tell you how much I absolutely love that!

The skip protection on this unit works very well, I have not had any issues. The hand strap is very comfortable, and the unit itself fits in the hand nicely. I like the programing features and the button design on this player as well. Also, when you press stop (not pause) and then resume playing the device at a later time, it picks up right where you left off on the cd. I feel like I got the best deal out there, definitely a great bargain.
