About SoundJax.com
SoundJax is semi autonomous sound search platform that indexes and renders waveforms, tags, and catalogues audio from the internet. SoundJax promises to be the future of sound search. [Beta Testing]
SoundJax also accepts tips, or suggestions. You can submit sound url's, as well as pages where sounds are located. SoundJax will then crawl those pages, and then list them in our search engine.
The awesome flash player that lets you interact and view the waveforms is courtesy of the Free Sound Project. The url is freesound.org This site is managed by the University of Pamplona Spain and Bram de Jong. Bram is really a positive force in the sound realm of the net.
The waveform generation, search algorithm, 3 search bots, conversion and other unique content is all coded in house using a mixture of Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python, and even some server side C++, and .NET Our project has 2 in house programmers, and a web designer.
