NOTE: Something to be very careful about! It does NOT prompt you that you are overriding a file it just does it. Just be very aware of where you are saving!

A friend of mine recommended this to me. What's great is that it on my windows machine at work and then at home on my Mac. The interface is the same on both which is nice. I use it primarily to edit files directly on the server. You'll need the Ftp plugin. In fact here are so good plugins to get your started:

Buffer tabs, Editor Scheme Selector (I personally like the zenburn), Jdiff Plugin, Ftp plugin.

I've had it crash once or twice. when I first started using it. But no crashes since then, about 3 months as of this writing. I like how it highlights the code. In php if you click by the { or } it shows you the beginning and end which I love. I'm not a hard core programmer. But it works great for my needs.
