We had been looking for about two years at gliders. We were thinking of getting a wood glider, but I was hesitating because of the thought of the upkeep wood needs. Then I saw this little number, which was $50 cheaper than the wood model we had been considering. This glider comes fully assembled which is nice - instant gratification!

This glider is also quite light so it was easy to load in our car and transport. I bought a seat cushion (the ones sold for wicker love seats) and a throw pillow for it as well; without the cushion I do not think it would be comfortable for extended periods. We love our glider, it is extremely comfortable for both my husband and myself (he is over 6 feet, and I am a little over 5.) I can even curl up on it quite comfortably and have been considering taking a nap on it. In conclusion a great, sturdy, comfortable and well built product - and affordable too!

[UPDATE] 4/2010

The glider has been out on our porch all winter. It has weathered it through rain, snow, sleet and high winds. I hosed it off the other day when I was cleaning up the porch, it still looks brand new and glides wonderfully. I am looking forward to another warm season of relaxing on it! Definitely worth the price, and SO glad we got it instead of a high maintenance wood model!

(Update 5/2011)

Glider has survived another cold and dreary winter. The weather has just about cleared up enough to put the cushions back out. I am still glad we bought this over the wood models.

Elemenopeo is delightful! Wonderfully vibrant illustrations charm child and adult alike. The text is fun - I quite like the thought of a cat enjoying lox and cream cheese. And yes, even the tail on the cover brings a chuckle to the heart.

Ms. Williams deep writings always wind there way into my heart and mind, insisting upon being pondered. This latest of her works is no exception. The reader is slowly pulled into her experiences in Italy learning the ancient art of mosaic, as well as the hot dry discomfort of being installed in a wood tower helping to research prairie dogs in Utah. There is sadness in reading of the brutal and callous behavior of many of the individuals she comes into contact with. But, there are also those she encounters that are enlightened teachers or fellow travelers that shine a light on the future, not just of nature but of mankind. Highly recommended read to any who does not choose to be ignorant, but wishes to know the world in all its varied facets.

I received this book as a Christmas gift when I was eight, I am now 30. I still find myself entirely enchanted by its wonders. The characters are so well developed, I still have a soft spot for poor Uncle Freddy and his embroideries. What a wonderful introduction this is to some of our most influential and revered historical figures: Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau. I also loved the mystical elements of India and the Transcendental movement as a whole. Superbly though...more I received this book as a Christmas gift when I was eight, I am now 30. Superbly thought out and executed, Ms. Langton's work in this novel never fails to delight in this unusual and captivating tale. Ms. Langton has a wonderful sensibility for creating appreciation for artifacts both physical and intellectual. The novel is able to smoothly offer the idea of choosing wisely now for the future you create for yourself, but it never comes off as preachy. I was so thrilled the day I was able to put up a gazing globe in my own yard, and those of you who read this treasure will know why!

This is a great set. The torso of the figurine is cast metal, the head and arms are plastic. The painting on the Wolverine piece is particularly detailed. Each figure is approximately 2.5 inches tall.
