Loud meow alert for empty food or water containers. Pushes doors open well, eases transport of dish to feeding area. Fills box quickly, but keeps messes in...mostly.

Sleeps for extended periods of time in small spaces. May jump out of hidden sleeping areas to help keep you alert. Occasionally breaks things found in kitchen areas. Likes to rub head on small dogs, dogs may become alarmed at the snuggle factor. Trims small grass patches occasionally. Converses freely with adults in meow dialect, answers questions promptly with appropriate length and tone. Will stand over you and stare at your face while you are asleep. Unconditionally loving companion with many years of friendship to share.

I was not at all prepared for the strong currents of emotions which are woven through this book. My first introduction to Mr. Hosseini's writing, I was completely enthralled just a few pages in. This was also my first introduction to any close knowledge of Afghanistan and the myriad groups and cultures that call the City of Kabul their home. A gripping tale of hurt, loss and redemption, the reader is left with a great appreciation for the struggles of the people who have been shaped by this strange and beautiful land.

This book completely transported me to this beautiful land that has been so tortured by ruthless men. I feel greatly indebted to Mr. Hosseini for opening my eyes and heart to the beauty and sadness that is Afghanistan. The human element is so pure in the characters, it opens the window to their joy and suffering. This is a wonderful book to bring understanding about the current and past political events in Afghanistan, and the struggles and triumphs of its peoples. I was also very impressed with the way the struggles, rules, discrimination and pain that the women of the country have been burdened with are so eloquently brought to life; and also the images of different men in the country, how some uphold and savor tyrannical treatment of women, and others are brave and see, know and cherish the women for the jewels that they are.

I was late in experiencing the Twilight Saga, I started reading them after being lent the first two books. I wasn't expecting much as I had not heard very favorable comments about Mrs. Meyer's writing, however I was pleasantly surprised. The characters are so well thought out and described that I truly felt as if I got to know each of them, I cared what happened to them. I was able to identify with Bella Swan, as far as being a rather quiet female who is somewhat shy and unusual; and I could not help falling in love with the mysterious Edward Cullen as I read. This book was simply a pleasure to read, definitely not high literature. But I think you are robbing yourself of simple pleasures if you do not include a little light reading in your life. After completing the entire Saga, I must say that Twilight was my favorite of the four books; in part because I felt this book to be the most free from thinly veiled LDS ideals and doctrine. By the final book, Breaking Dawn, I felt like the "Mormon ideal" was being crammed down my throat, which was very disappointing and literally was making me sick. The introduction of these characters and their journey towards their relationship was interesting and exciting to me. The tension in the narrative is great, as well as the release felt at the moments Edward and Bella finally connect. All else aside, I think I am so fond of the story because I have an enormous passion for all things antique and so the handsome vampire from the past sounds like a lovely companion to me...
