I use a personal CD player often as I go out walking. I do have a small ipod, but I have an extensive cd collection, and there is something nice about the tactile experience of flipping through my cd case, looking at the great cover art while I decide what to listen to on my walk.

My old player had had about 7 years of use and was skipping badly. I decided it was time for a new one, plus there have been more advances made in the technology since I bought my last one.

After looking around for a couple of days online, I decided to try this Sony model. I purchased it as a factory refurbished item off Ebay. I was a little nervous, but the seller provided all the information needed in case I might need to make a warranty claim to Sony.

I got this model for about $38, and it retails for over $100.

The player came, and I read over the instruction booklet to familiarize myself with all the new functions etc. I was surprised by one of the player's features. It comes with an AC adapter (that never happens!)and not only that, the unit is made so that you can plug in the adapter, and if you have rechargeable batteries in the unit, you press the "stop" button and the batteries will begin to charge! I can not tell you how much I absolutely love that!

The skip protection on this unit works very well, I have not had any issues. The hand strap is very comfortable, and the unit itself fits in the hand nicely. I like the programing features and the button design on this player as well. Also, when you press stop (not pause) and then resume playing the device at a later time, it picks up right where you left off on the cd. I feel like I got the best deal out there, definitely a great bargain.

I had been thinking for a while that I needed to start taking calcium supplements again. It had been years since I had, and I decided to do some research before committing to a product.

As anyone who has read anything about calcium absorption and the human body knows, the calcium from dairy products is not a good source for strengthening bones and muscles in humans. To the contrary, the proteins in dairy products actually leech calcium FROM your bones. Calcium carbonate and calcium citrate are the most readily absorbed options on the market. What was new information to me was learning that certain levels of vitamin D and magnesium are also necessary for proper absorption.

I have difficulty in swallowing pills/vitamins, so I wanted a chewable that tasted good. I was so happy when I came across the TwinLab calcium wafers. They have a citrus taste that is pleasant, and are easy to munch. They also have the needed amounts of vitamin D and magnesium.

We ordered one bottle to make sure they would work for us, and we were pleased. I have searched online to find the best deal. There are widely varying costs & shipping out there, so take the time to find the best value. Currently we are getting ours from Vitacost.com. I have also seen them on Amazon.com. So far, I have not been able to locate a local source for these, it sure would be nice to not have to pay shipping costs though.

This is one of the many figurines now discontinued, that were made of the Beatrix Potter characters by the Beswick Company.

Pigwig has been interpreted with loving detail in this piece. The colors she is painted in are gorgeous. When comparing to the illustrations in the book, there is nothing disappointing in the translation from page to ceramics.

Now, if only they had made more of them, and they weren't so hard to find!

I am not a soda drinker, 95% of the time I would rather drink water or tea. I tried this soda brand one hot day when I was craving something cold and with a lemon lime taste. I was nervous, but the first sip was so tasty and refreshing, I knew I had found a new summertime treat. I like that this product is natural without added sugar. I don't feel guilty about my husband and I consuming some now and then. If we have children some day, I am excited to know there is a healthier alternative to the popular garbage drinks out there.

I bought two of these fans about a year ago to put in my kitchen window, and bedroom window during the summer months. I just got through setting it up for this summer. I have been very happy with them so far, and they still seem like new. I have read other reviews that said the fans are too noisy. I think when they are on the highest setting it is noisy, but you know, it's a fan! I have never seen any model that was silent on the highest setting. I find that this unit works well for me. I particularly like that I can intake, or expel air from the room, or (because of the dual control feature) both at once. Only thing that is weird to me is the "thermostat" knob, which other than turning the unit off or on, doesn't seem to serve a purpose.

*Update 6/29/2010*

Well, I deducted 2 stars from my rating. The motor that controls the left hand side of the unit just quit working last week :( I don't know what happened. The unit has been in the window, not received any unusual moisture or anything. The right side of the unit continues to work as it should. I am disappointed that a fan is about $50 would stop working like that. I will have to see if I have any warranty info, and will update with any developments.

*Update 8/30/2010

I deducted one more star. The fan on the right side of the unit stopped working last week. Once again, no undue moisture or trauma occurred. I think a $50 dollar fan should definitely last longer than two summers. I am disappointed. We still have one the one working upstairs, and no issues, but I wouldn't want to chance buying this brand in the future.
