A Surprise From Ms. Alcott
Very interesting story. The edition I read was online and I was unaware at the time that A.M. Barnard was a pen name for Louisa May Alcott. There were moments in the narrative and styling of this piece that strongly brought to my mind the works of Virginia Woolf. A nice short story for a stormy day.
Car Repair You Can Feel Good About
I took my 2000 Honda CRV to Technicare after reading the first review, I can now heartily add my vote of approval to this great shop. The first time I took my car in it was to get the timing belt and water pump replaced. The guys got it done in a day. The charges for the repairs were very reasonable. I also took my car there to get the safety inspection done. I came to their shop as they opened and they had me out the door again in no time. Great service, knowledgeable, and friendly, I will definitely take my car there again in the future.
Save $ and Eat Healthy
I used to always buy cooking spray but I was always frustrated with the terrible alcohol smell it emitted as well as how expensive the little cans were. I decided to give the Misto a try and my husband and I have been thrilled with it. We only use olive oil in our Misto. We have been using it for about a year now and have not had any problems with it. Although the can is about the same size as the store bought oil sprays, it seems to last much longer. I also enjoy knowing that it is a pure high quality oil that is fresh and doesn't have any additives in it. We cleaned our Misto per the manufacturer's directions twice in the time we have owned it and it is a simple process. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who enjoys the ease of using a spray on oil.
*Update*
I have been using this Misto sprayer for over a year now. I still like it as much as when I got it. I have cleaned it a few times with warm, soapy water (per the instructions) and it still works great! The cleaning process is simple and insures full spray output.
A Little Slim on Activity
I love a great horror movie, I like to be scared. Unfortunately, this movie does not horrify or scare, in fact I wasn't even in suspense for the most part. There were two scenes in the whole movie that I found spooky and interesting. The rest of the time I found myself bored, waiting for something to happen - anything! But, no I was left to hear the mindless bantering of the main characters. The movie did have a few truly funny moments at the beginning that had me hopeful for a well orchestrated film, alas I was sorely disappointed. If you want to see this, don't pay full price wait for the $1 movies or rent it.
Come Prepared and Have Some Fun!
The Haunted Forest was a great experience. I was astounded at how much detail there was with the displays. And it is a really neat feeling to be wandering through a bunch of trees and shrubs with spooky dim lanterns guiding you on the dusky winding path. One important note for asthma sufferers, if you have trouble breathing when fog machines are in use you will want to come prepared with medication, or a mask. I have a lot of trouble with the fog triggering my asthma, and even though a good portion of this event is outside, there are extended periods of walking through buildings that are completely filled with the "fogged" air. It almost became too much for me at one point. Also, make sure you bring a warm jacket as the wait to get in could become quite long. The entertainment they have set up for the waiting line is wonderful. The bathroom man was hilariously memorable. I was very impressed with the mine shaft experience, I felt like I was wandering into great subterranean depths with the dirt walls and musty smell. Also I enjoyed the crypt like room with the corpses that lean in and out from the walls under the spooky atmosphere of a strobe light. The walk through twirling tunnel is always a favorite. Some of the optical effects are the most thrilling. As a previous reviewer mentioned, I also felt like the event petered out towards the end and felt like they put some of the best stuff up front. All in all it was a great experience, definitely worth the money. I felt like I was in there for a really long time and I enjoyed every minute!
