Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends--Natural Radiance B
This is a wonderful product from Neutrogena. It advertises as a "bronzer", but I have very fair/pale skin, and it works wonderfully as a natural-looking blush for me. I just apply a few strokes of it to my cheeks daily, and I have a natural-looking glow that doesn't look fake.
You can use it anywhere, though. I sometimes use it on my eyelids to give them some color if I'm too lazy to put eye make-up on.
It never cakes or streaks or looks messy.
The price is right as well. About $7-$10 in drugstores. And it lasts forever, as just a little bit goes a long way.
Revlon PhotoReady Foundation
I have extremely fair/pale skin, and it's hard for me to find liquid make-up that doesn't make me look like I have a mask on. All liquid foundation tends to be too dark on me...even in Classic Ivory colors. So far, the best thing I've found is Revlon Photo-Ready Make-up in Ivory. It offers a nice poreless coverage and doesn't show up cakey or mask-like in any light. It tends to run in the $11-$15 range at drugstores, but the extra few dollars as compared to Cover Girl brands is definitely worth it.
You also get a fairly large bottle of the foundation, and so far it's lasted me 2 months, and I wear it daily.
Another bonus is it offers SPF 20 coverage, and it's oil and fragrance free. I don't need to slather on oily sunblock under my make-up, which I used to do all the time due to my fair skin.
Try it out. It's worth it.
Super Speedy Service!
I first bought a pair of shoes from this online retailer about a year ago. I liked the shoes and didn't have any issues with the transaction.
A few weeks ago, I decided to look for some new summer sandals. I like how easy it is to view styles online instead of driving to many different stores.
I really like the way Zappos site is set up for viewing shoes. They have pictures of the style in all available colors, as well as multiple angle pictures of the shoe. It sure is nice to know what you are getting! Zappos also has customer reviews of some shoe models on their site. I found this feature most helpful as the pair I decided on was said to run small.
The ordering process was a snap. I selected the free shipping option that is supposed to take about a week. Imagine my surprise when I got my tracking number that said the shoes should be delivered the next day!The shoes shipped from Kentucky and I am in Utah. Apparently Zappos will expedite some orders at their discretion.
The shoes came the next day. I really liked them, but they did seem a little small, so I sent them back. Zappos has free shipping returns on unworn shoes and you have a whole year in which to send them back! You just go online to your customer account and print out a return label for the specific order.
The new sandals came, also ordered the replacements and they arrived the next day. The new pair fit great and I was thrilled with the great service.
The only think I am concerned about is my refund. I sent back the smaller sandals on April 16th 2010, there still is not a credit on my account... I will update my post to say how long it took to get my refund for returned merchandise.
Otherwise, excellent selection, super fast shipping service, quality product.
Easy way to sync your files.
I had this set up a couple years ago when they first started. Recently I started using it again. I've been working on a WordPress plugin, and it was nice to sync the files between various computers I use.
What's nice if you complete all the steps on how to use DropBox they give you another 250MB of space. Then they have a cool referral program. Refer a friend and you and your friend get 250MB of space added to your account. Max of 8GB, so if you refer enough people you could get 10GB of storage for FREE. Pretty sweet. Right now you start out with 2GB I believe.
Just a FYI with the referral, everyone you refer can see your email. So don't refer people if you don't want them to know your email.
Overall I love it, I'll continue to use it.
Best IM Client for Windows!
Much better and easier to use than Trillian which is the other main IM Client where you can log into several IM Clients an check email as well.
What I love about Digsby is that you can view the titles of new emails and actually delete or spam them right from the menu. No need to open a web browser, pretty slick. Has a clean interface, tabbed browsing, several themes to pick from, support for all the IM Clients plus Facebook (which I don't use), file transfer all the good stuff.
I like how the pop-up notifications work too, you can choose which corner of the screen for them to pop on too.
Wish they could hurry up and create a Mac Version :P
www.saltlakerestaurant.com rocks!
I love this website. It is clean looking and gets me the information I want about restaurants in Salt Lake City. www.saltlakerestaurant.com is the premier authority on where to eat out. Their reviews are fun, informative and real. They also do occasional contests and giveaways.
Toothpaste Monster
The taste of the toothpaste is fine actually. It's just the toothpaste throw up after each use. Even if you wipe it off after your done, it still drools.
So if they fixed that issue then maybe I'll try it again. Also, the container design makes me wonder how much paste might be left in the container when the propellant is gone.
The Aquafresh Foaming Gel Monster
In the interest of a green environment, I will use up the toothpaste gel in this toothpaste canister. But after it's gone, my medicine cabinet will return to it's peaceful homeostasis with all health and beauty products in complete harmony.
Last Time for the Last Samurai
My husband and I are frequent customers at Benihana, we decided to try this new place as another possible option. We looked at the menu before deciding to be seated. Last Samurai offers Tepinyaki style meals as well as sushi and other Japanese entrees like udon or tempura.
The building is nicely decorated with a great atmosphere. We were seated in a little private booth/room. After looking over the menu, we decided to try the tuna sashimi, side orders of fried rice. My husband ordered the miso soup, and I tried the onion soup.
Lets start with the soup. My husband said his miso was "alright" not great, not bad. My onion soup was a quite a disappointment. Upon the first sip, I could taste that it was obviously made using some sort of pre-made soup base. It reminded me of those cheap Lipton soup packets, or cup-o-soup. It was bad. Then our fried rice came. My husband had taken several bites and I asked him how it was. He said it was the worst fried rice he's ever had. I then tried mine, and was immediately overwhelmed by the fact that the rice tasted completely burnt. It was odd as the only thing that appeared only slightly charred were the small edges of the egg pieces in the rice. I took two more bites to be certain, it was absolutely terrible. The burnt taste stayed in the mouth and it was hard to get rid of it. It was so bad, I told my husband that I couldn't even stand the smell. When the waitress returned we asked for some steamed rice and my husband told her the fried rice was burnt. She was very gracious about taking the rice away and bringing the new steamed rice. The sashimi was excellent. Large well cut pieces, tender, flavorful and very fresh. I wouldn't mind getting the sashimi again, but that's about it. I would be too scared to try anything else, it is just not worth it!
The waitstaff was prompt and polite. When our check arrived, I noticed that they had not charged us for either the burnt fried rice, or the replacement steamed rice.
I think I can say that my husband and I will remain true to Benihana as our exclusive choice for tepenyaki fried rice. I would recommend Tokyo Sushi, or Kyoto as excellent sushi restaurants in the Salt Lake Area.
